La'Terence Graham
I'm a native of South Carolina. I started working around the age of seven as a field hand, but God had more for this young child, an artist was lurking inside him.
The first time anyone saw my doodling as art was in Bible School. The teacher wanted someone to draw a picture of Jesus and I volunteered. After the drawing was done, she informed my mother that she needed to see something. She was amazed and questioned if I had done this. The answer was "YES". She looked at me and asked, " Why didn't you tell me you could draw?" I replied, "You never asked".
I have donated a portrait of Ronald McNair to Lake City Primary School, that still hangs there today. I have also done many portraits for friends and family.
My art teacher, my sophomore year, suggested that I apply to The Governor's School of the Arts, I did and was chosen as an alternate. One of the pictures I submitted to The Governor's School of the Arts that year was chosen to be in an art contest sponsored by the Florence Museum even though I was under age. The next year, I was chosen to attend the Governor's School and that was my first real taste of formal training.
I attended BAUDER COLLEGE in Atlanta, Georgia and majored in Fashion Design. I became a Fashion Designer as well as a FASHION ILLUSTRATOR for seven years. I used all of my natural talent and formal training to create this series of drawings with a personal and fashion influence.
